Getting started

Ready in three steps

  1. 1

    Install

Install Phasewake from Google Play on both your phone and your Galaxy Watch.

  2. 2

    Open it on the watch

Open Phasewake on the watch and allow notifications, sensors and alarms. Without the sensor permissions the alarm still rings at your latest time.

  3. 3

    Set an alarm

Choose the latest time you must be up and a wake-up range. The watch wakes you at a light-sleep moment inside your range.

Troubleshooting

If something doesn’t work

The alarm didn’t ring, or rang late

Check that Phasewake may show notifications on the watch: Settings → Apps → Phasewake → Permissions.

Turn off battery optimisation for Phasewake, so the system does not pause it (on the phone: Settings → Apps → Phasewake → Battery → Unrestricted).

Don’t force-stop the app. A force-stopped app can’t ring until you open it again.

The watch and phone don’t sync
Make sure Phasewake is installed on both the watch and the phone, the watch is connected in the Galaxy Wearable app, and Bluetooth is on. Keep the phone near the watch.
The alarm rang at the latest time
That happens when the watch found no light-sleep moment inside your range: on some mornings you sleep deeply through the whole range. It can also mean the watch couldn’t read you well because it wasn’t on your wrist or sat loosely. Wear the watch snugly at night.
There’s no chart in History
Charts are made for alarms with a wake-up range. The watch sends the chart to the phone after the morning check (“Are you awake?”), so it can appear a few minutes after you stop the alarm. Keep the phone app installed.
The power nap rang at the latest time
A nap wakes you about 20 minutes after you fall asleep, never later than the latest time you set. If it rang at the latest time, you didn’t fall asleep or the watch couldn’t detect it, for example because it sat loosely on your wrist.
Daylight saving time
Alarms follow your local time automatically. When the clocks change, your alarm still rings at the time you set.
